Mentoring is now a 360º activity, and no longer a top-down imposition. We have to learn from other people who provide new perspectives.
E.g. The PWC Mentoring Program partners young associates with senior managers to promote knowledge and skill sharing in social media.
Where do you keep all ideas, files, videos, quotes, articles useful to your learning? Imagine a “digital box” where you keep everything that helps you to learn. In this box, you can organize, label and quickly find everything that you learn.
CVs are the first point of contact for making an impression with a potential employer, so why send them a boring one? It’s time to think beyond a sheet of white A4 paper. Anything goes--videos, cards, books, even a carton of milk.
The ideal worker is also “Transdisciplinarity-shaped”. He brings a deep understanding of at least one field, but has the capacity to speak the language of a broader range of disciplines. This requires a sense of curiosity and a willingness to go on learning far beyond the years of formal education. Extended life spans promote multiple careers and exposure to more industries and disciplines.
